Day 307 of 365 Day Jamaican Music Challenge - Patrick Andy - Get Up Stand Up

Moving up to 1984 with yet another Greensleeves 12", this time produced by Myrie Lewis and Errol Marshall and featuring the Riddim Twins Sly & Robbie.  This one is called "Get Up Stand Up" by Patrick Andy, an artist who based his "stage name" on his falsetto vocal similarity to that of the great Horace Andy.  A nice example of early dancehall with strictly feel-good vibes!  Andy isn't urging the listener to "Get Up Stand Up" in the same way The Wailers did in 1973, instead he is delightfully encouraging you to get up on your feet and "rock to the beat" on a mellow take of the Heavenless riddim that sounds as good today as it did the day it was recorded.
