Day 334 of 365 Day Jamaican Music Challenge - Lee "Scratch" Perry - Corn Fish Dub
So much has been said and written about the mad genius of Lee "Scratch" Perry that if you want to learn more there are multiple sources online that would keep you busy literally for weeks if not months. In other words I'm not going to delve into his history or even begin to try and explain the magic this man created with rudimentary equipment in his Black Ark studio located in the back yard of his residential home in Kingston. The guy just has a way of emoting mood and today's track gives me the feeling of mellow and happy contentment... I won't rack my brain so that I can go into depth explaining exactly why so I'll simply let you hear for yourself. Today's track is "Corn Fish Dub" and it is the dubwise version of Perry's own vocal tune "Roast Fish And Cornbread" originally released on both Upsetter and Island Records in 1976. Dig it!
