Day 335 of 365 Day Jamaican Music Challenge - Tommy McCook & Bobby Ellis - Autumn Mood
We're just 24 hours away from October and all the spooky goings-on that occur during this festive time of year so I figured I'd give autumn itself just a little more love. Sure it's easy to love autumn when we're only a week into it and the weather is still summery but by the time October wraps up and we get into the crap pattern of cold weather, bare trees and gray skies the affection quickly wanes. But let's not dwell on that right now, let's get to some music in celebration of the season. This one is called "Autumn Mood" by Tommy McCook and Bobby Ellis and it comes from the excellent 1974 Winston Riley production Green Mango on the Attack label. Green Mango is a great showcase of McCook and Ellis' talents and the kind of upbeat yet mellow album you can listen to from one side to the other... it has become a perennial Sunday afternoon staple around our house.
