During my usual blogging hiatus in September, while I'm in the midst of putting together the Halloween Spooktacular, I often feel like I'm neglecting my duties in providing you with Jamaican musical entertainment you've come to expect from Distinctly Jamaican Sounds. To combat that feeling I contemplated another thematic compilation... unfortunately, reality set in and I realized that I need at least a couple hours of sleep each night.
Regardless, I couldn't get over the feelings of blog neglect and decided to do this...
Over the course of the year, I often start mixes that never make it to completion... usually the begin when I hear a song on the ipod with a riddim that gets stuck in my head. These songs are usually newer, at least by my standards, and usually involves digital reworking of classic non-digital riddims.
Here are 3 riddim mixes that never make it beyond Garageband... individually, they're too short to post here but combined, I hope you'll agree, it makes for 37 minutes of enjoyable reggae. I'm not going to go into depth with all the songs and artists enclosed within because I seriously do not have the time right now but the riddims you're going to hear are A Love I Can Feel, Heavenless and Come Home...
Enjoy!!
