Day 306 of 365 Day Jamaican Music Challenge - Anthony Johnson - Let Go This One

Another Thursday and yet again another production by Junjo Lawes on Greensleeves!  This one is by Anthony Johnson and it's called "Let Go This One" from 1981.  In the mid 70s Ray Anthony Johnson got his start by recording with Bunny Lee.  Unfortunately the one song he recorded with Lee "Free Black Man" was never released so afterwards, under advisement from the hit-making producer, Johnson dropped the Ray from his name and turned his attention to recording at Channel One.  There he met with moderate success before forming the group Mystic I who recorded the album Mysterious for Linval Thompson and a bunch of singles for Lee "Scratch" Perry.  By the time the 80s rolled around Anthony Johnson again decided to give his solo career a go and had hits for Thompson, Jah Thomas and of course Junjo Lawes.  Today's track is one of those tunes he laid down for Lawes and of course it's backed by the Radics and mixed by Hopeton "Scientist" Brown, like so many of the great tracks from the era.  Dig it!
