Day 333 of 365 Day Jamaican Music Challenge - Harry J - Dub To Babylonians Head
Keeping with the dub we got goin' on here... this one comes from the studio of Harry J some time around 1973 and while the information about who actually did the mixing is rather sketchy it would probably be safe in assuming it was Sylvan Morris behind the console. The track is called "Dub To Babylonians Head" and it comes from an album called Dubbing At Harry J's 1972-1975 on the Jamaican Recordings label. What makes this dub mix so sweet is the healthy sampling of the vocals from a super tuff tune called "Babylon Gone" by an artist named Zeddie Bailey. Bailey, as far as I can tell, unfortunately only recorded this one song and it has been a favorite of mine for years.
